  • Building a Sustainable Economy

Times are tough.  We must shift from an economy rooted in the lumber and Real Estate booms of the past to a sustainable economy for future generations by building local businesses, tourism, renewable energy, and clean tech manufacturing.

My priority will be getting Central Oregonians back to work.

  • Making Health Care Affordable

No one should have to choose between buying medicine or buying food.

Oregon is on the leading edge of creating a better health care system to serve all Oregonians, but it will require legislators like me who can stand up to special interests who have made money denying claims, excluding people who are sick and raising premiums beyond our reach.

  • Improving Transportation

Traffic is increasing in Central Oregon and our economy requires solutions. We need regional approaches to reduce congestion, improve the flow for public safety, and increase affordable options for people who rely on public transportation.

I am an experienced advocate who will stand up for Central Oregon in Salem and address our traffic challenges.

  • Prioritizing Education

Education is the foundation of our economy. I will advocate for educational excellence at all levels: early childhood programs, reducing class sizes, keeping the arts and PE in schools, and ensuring all Oregonians have access to higher education and vocational programs.

My top priority is to get adequate funding for OSU-Cascades campus so our students have more local options.

  • Achieving Energy Independence

I will work to expand our wind, geothermal, solar, and wave infrastructure to create jobs, decrease our dependency on foreign oil and reduce energy costs.

I believe Oregonians have the pioneering spirit to create a green energy blueprint for the nation. Right here in Central Oregon we can create family wage jobs and provide incentives for people to add solar panels to their homes to lower their energy bills.
